In order to participate in the MS Challenge Walk, each team member is required to raise $1,500. Much of that is accomplished through individual team members contacting their own families, friends and business associates. The Blister Buddies are one of the most successful fundraisers in the history of the Cape Cod MS Challenge Walk. We believe that is because we are able to support individual efforts with team supported fundraising events. It isn't easy to ask for money especially in this economic environment. We know we need to be especially creative in our efforts in 2009. We'll update this page as our events are scheduled. Please check in from time to time to see if there is an event that you would like to support. Holiday Boutique Charity ChowderFest Yard Sale Holiday BoutiqueFundraising for 2010 kicked off with the fourth annual Blister Buddies Holiday Boutique. This event was started by Blister Buddy, Dolores Alberghini. Each year before Christmas, Dolores turns her Groton, MA home into a mini shopping plaza. Participating vendors display their goods for purchase with a portion of the proceeds benefiting The National MS Society. This holiday event has quickly become a Blister Buddies tradition and a significant fundraiser. It also is a great example of how creative thinking helps fundraising and awareness. Charity ChowderFest
On Saturday, February 27th the Townsend VFW will host and sponsor a Charity ChowderFest. This event will be held at the VFW Hall on Main St. in West Townsend Outside skating and hot chocolate will be provided for free. Inside, a chowder tasting and competition will warm things up. Some of the best local restaurants will offer their chowder specialty. Great chowder will be served against a backdrop of great music. Performances include singer/songwriter Coretta Sellars with Neal Ward and musician Tim Rollo. The admission cost for the chowder tasting and music is just $5.00 per person. Proceeds of this event will benefit National Multiple Sclerosis Society/Blister Buddies Challenge Walk Team.
