We’re hitting the trail again and the Blister Buddies are still with us. I have walked the Challenge Walk twice, and let's just say walking is not a favorite for me. In year three I decided to join the bicycle crew. I know how important it is after walking several hours to have someone ride up beside you and offer a fresh drink, a word of encouragement, or a nice cool cloth. The hours on the trail are longer but I feel better knowing the bike crew is there to help. The Blister Buddies work tirelessly all year raising funds to help all who suffer from the affects of Multiple Sclerosis, the MS Society has been essential in bringing aid to those who suffer as well. The people who work for the MS Society truly work day and night to find creative ways to increase aid to everyone affected by MS. The MS Society's New England Chapter is here to help thousands of people in the New England maintain normal activities. They also help to fund research, help patients find a doctor, or medication. While performing these tasks they are also organizing walks, bicycle tours and a wide range of other fundraising activities. When Patty was diagnosed with MS we were both frightened at what the future would bring. But the good news has been that what the future has brought is an amazing group of friends who never give up. The Blister Buddies and the MS Society have been by our side through good times and bad. All I can say to them is thank you from the bottom of our hearts. There currently is no cure for Multiple Sclerosis. However, the efforts made by the Blister Buddies and the MS Society offer hope that one day there will be.
