brooke I am walking for my mother. She is the most amazing, inspiring woman I have ever met. As long as I can remember she has been working hard and helping everyone around her. When she was diagnosed with MS, we were devastated, but like everything else in her life, she has handled it with grace.

She mostly has problems with her eyesight, and with her legs. Her symptoms come and go. It is so hard to see the strongest woman in my life have to struggle with this disease. Yet she has started this team and she too will walk 50 miles for a cure.

Every day, someone hears the words, "You have multiple sclerosis." They enter a time of unpredictability when they wonder each morning if they will see, if their legs will work, if they can pick up their child. This is why we walk.

When people come together to walk together in the MS Challenge Walk, awareness is generated of the many programs and events provided by the National MS Society’s nationwide network of chapters. Husbands walk for their wives, kids walk for their dads, co-workers walk for their cubicle neighbor. Each one is raising money so that local National MS Society offices can provide literature, support groups, and education programs. So that we can continue to fund cutting edge research into the cause and cure. Research that has developed 5 therapies for the treatment of multiple sclerosis. Research that will continue, until in the end, 2 hours pass when no one is diagnosed, then a day, then a week, until the day when no one is diagnosed, and the cure is found. This is why we walk.
